We are Adam’s family. His brother and his sister, his brother-in-law, and the nieces and nephews he never got to meet. Adam’s life and death impacted our family in ways that are still profoundly felt. The grief, guilt, and anxiety, the hole left in our family, and the feeling of helplessness and frustration with the system — these have never gone away.
But neither has the hope that someday his case will be solved.
We created this website because Adam’s life mattered. His death was senseless and cruel, and he deserves justice. The police department says there is no usable DNA evidence. His case will most likely only be solved if someone eventually comes forward with information.
We believe that somebody out there knows something, and hope that by sharing his story online, as far and as wide as we can, we can reach that person.
We know that even a little interest can make a difference. 43 years after his death, Adam’s case was still not listed on the San Diego Police Department’s online index of cold case files. 6 months after we asked the police to update the site, the San Diego Union Tribune published the first article about Adam’s case since 1979, and mentioned that his case was not listed.
Adam’s case was added to the website the next day.
